Should the government further intervene to decrease gasoline prices?

Car manufacturers gotta start making solar-powered and electric cars. We gotta break free of slavery to gasoline imposed on us by the American government for so many decades! I refuse to ever buy a gasoline-powered car. My bike can get me around just fine until I have the money for a solar-powered car. The rovers on Mars use it, why can't we?? I'd rather spend the money to break free than get a gas car for free down payment
